Nowadays, with the development of economy, more and more people tend to believe that nothing is free today, including good deeds.
Although I think that materially reward can support and motivate people to do good works, and everyone has his right to ask for a proper reward, we must be clear that good deeds can be rewarded, however this does not mean that it should be rewarded.
I believe that a pure good deed comes from a pure conscience. It is done of our own accord for goodness, instead of profit. If you are a good person, will you expect to exchange your priceless conscience with money? If so, how can you be a good person indeed?
Just imagine, if Mother Theresa claims that” We can't do great things, but we can do little things with great reward.” If Leifeng claims that ” No money, no way to help you!” What do you feel? Are they still doing good? Will you expect them to help you once you are poor and weak?
The way of doing good deeds can be nice and noble, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men's souls - has barricaded the world with lust - has goose-stepped us into absurdity and misery. We have developed material civilization, but we have shut ourselves in. we plot too much and love too little; we ask for too much and give too little. More than money we need sympathy. More than richness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, no matter how much money we have, life will be meaningless, untruthful, fake, and all will be lost.
My friends! Don't betray our conscience for money! Keep it for goodness! In the seventeenth chapter of St Luke, it is written the kingdom of God is within man, not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! You, my friends, have the power - the power to do good deeds, the power to help others. The power to create happiness! You, my friends, have the power to make your life meaningful and beautiful - to make others life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of goodness - let us use that power to light the cold, dark money rules, let us use that power to do away with greed, with selfishness and callousness. Let us fight for a world of love – a family where goodness and kindness will lead to all men's happiness!
