I noticed some of the posts mentioned similar things to LOL, like being able to hide in tall bush and stuff.

I think working out a way to stop people backdooring towers is important, I personally think that using DOTA style skyrocket regen is the best for towers when there are no creeps, since just straight up having high power the towers can still be pushed eventually by backdooring.

About the current map 0.977, I saw in post for it about the incomplete AI part, I'm aware they don't actually build items, since items they can't hold occasionally get dropped in the middle of the lane, where they were magicked out of nowhere. But having them start with items suited to mid game is a bit OP, like seriously, I got first blooded by Nue on multiple occasions because of that rocket item one hit.

About items, I know there are some items that burn off mp, but maybe one that gives the user spell vamp would be good too, and maybe an item that gives off a weak cooldown reduction aura, like say, maybe 5% or lower.

December did thought about anti-backdooring when creeps/minions are absent, and she did implement it (albeit not very effective): attacking a tower alone would result in the tower having increased Armor and Attack Damage. A better solution would be giving the tower a gradual linear increase to its Attack, but imo this would still not solve the infamous "Yamame Spider" backdoor.

Is it okay to actually just copy a mechanism? Won't the developers of DOTA come here to sue THD? To tell you the truth, there are many ways to solve backdooring. The only problem is whether the developers of this map are able to make them work. I personally suggest making the tower's defense 999999 whenever someone back doors, it's better this way since increased regen might accidentally cause the tower to heal more health then what it originally had. But I'm no map maker so I'm not sure if it could be implemented.

They can't because you can't copyright a Warcraft 3 map, IceFrog wouldn't care anyway.

Dota's anti-BD system is great as it doesn't make towers 100% BD proof, you just need to be mad strong to be able to back door. I'm pretty sure Dota's regen system is triggered to not overheal the towers though

The regen does not overheal towers. Late game characters can still backdoor those towers, since while the regen is pretty fast it isn't THAT fast.
